AMC have worked on many large and small-scale mining projects from pre-feasibility study stage through implementation and commissioning. Our engineers know that operators, mine developers and potential investors, particularly in Africa, are concerned about economic and political risks as well as the technical aspects of any project. All these areas are covered during the feasibility study process which we believe should follow a "ground up" approach.
Our engineers and affiliates have extensive, in-depth experience in mining, geotechnical and environmental engineering for open pit and underground mines.  This includes direct and on-going assistance to operating mines as well as input to feasibility studies for proposed mines.  Our diverse areas of involvement with current mining operations includes:-

  • Review of mine stability in terms of existing methods, proposed mining methods or proposed changes to existing methods.
  • Review of ground control problems and support techniques in development and stopes.
  • Analysis of stope histories and development of site specific stability models for re-design of stope and/or pillar dimensions.
  • Audits of drilling and blasting practices for open pit mines and underground development and stoping.
  • Optimisation of mining sequences for primary mining and/or pillar recovery for all types of underground mining methods.
  • Project management of mining studies.

In summary AMC Mining Services can provide studies including:

  • Resource Assessments
  • Rock Mechanics
  • Feasibility Studies
