Bluhm Burton Engineering Pty Limited (BBE) concentrates South African mine ventilation and underground environmental control expertise within an energetic and dedicated consulting and service group. The company applies specialised knowledge and technology to provide practical, economic solutions to mine environmental engineering problems.

The company experience includes a full range of massive and narrow reef mining with widely varying extraction methods and varying degrees of mechanisation, as well as specialised tunnelling operations.

The principals of the company are technical leaders in their field and have made significant contributions to the state of the art of mine ventilation over a number of years. BBE are recognised international experts in the design of mine ventilation and cooling systems and are, in addition, able to carry out on-site monitoring, auditing, trouble-shooting, and the design and supply of site specific equipment. Specialised computer programs have been developed to simulate the underground heat loads and ventilation systems for a variety of mines.

The company has a strong financial base, proud management record and an established reputation. BBE was established in 1990 and serves all major South African mining houses including Goldfields, Anglovaal, Genmin, Anglo American, ISCOR, Rand Mines and JCI. Other selected clients include ZCCM (Zambia), CVRD (Brazil), Lesotho Highlands Project Contractors (Lesotho) and others in the international minerals industry.
